Do you prefer to play alone, with a buddy, or online?

Do you prefer to play individual campaigns, multiplayer or online multiplayer? I can play online sometimes, but I believe that much more alone. The only exception is Gears of War 1 / 2. Boyfriend I have come to play cooperatively.
